5.1 Home theater

I got this product as a gift but its an awesome kind of the things ...better from other available in the market and he product also has value for your money.. The player is also cool ..its Philips it plays it alll.. happy to have this ..i would recommend this thing

Though we had several options, we decided to go with Philips as most of our other appliances at home are from Phillips only. No regrets with Phillips and I never had any operational problems or service related issues for my other items which are quite old. Happy to recommend this to others too.

The player offers everything you expect it to - plays 3D, BluRay, plays all HD/SD file formats and supports most DTS and Dobly audio formats. The audio performance for 5.1 surround channels is very good but the mp3 audio could have been better. Overall, it is a very good product for the given price.

This is my 1st Home theatre and really love it. Few points for buyers. 1) It reads my 1TB WD HDD without any problem. 2) It plays HD 5.1 Files from Hard Disk. 3) It supports PAL/NTSC and HDMI 50Hz/60Hz. 4) BASS effect is really good and it has a manual equalizer.

Who should buy this: 1. If you are looking for a basic 3d blu ray home theatre. 2. If your budget is 15k to 20k Who should NOT buy this: 1. If you are looking for a strong bass sound.

I have used it for a week, it is worth to buy this home theatre in a box for this price tag. This 3d bluray HTS has two digital audio inputs, so its an advantage to connect additional two HD audio sources. I have searched a lot and this is the one which has all features like Dolby truHD, DTS HD-MA, 3d Bluray playability with two digital audio inputs so those who wants to have all these can go for this....... It plays almost all formats with good sound quality when the audio source is 5.1, for stereo sources punch is not enough!!!!!!! when come to an user console the remote is little hard and little lag especially when you press volume key and menu fonts are huge, i hope this can be changed with new firmware update if philips release new firmware... So overall performance is good, if you are a movie savy with HD video and audio it is a best buy.......

Blu ray player is very big compared to other brands and remote sensivity is not good. But picture quality and clarity is very nice.I didnt try using wifi.I tried with usb drive by playing blu ray files and mkv format files. This product is worthble for that price.

I have been using this for the last 1.5 years. I have already written a review after one month. This product is value for money no doubt for that, but the performance has been average. Sound quality is good for 5.1 sound source like DVD and blu ray or a mkv or avi from USB with 5.1 audio. For non 5.1 source like stereo, the output is below average and does not even come near my creative 2.1 system used for PC. Audio In volume is very low and sound does not have a rich feeling. Same with Audio L+R in in the rear which I connected my TV output. I would prefer to hear TV (digital cable) audio in TV speakers than in this one. But as I already said, 5.1 audio is awesome. DLNA works, thats all with too many bugs. It keeps freezing and hanging song after song and for many videos. You need to re-start the player to make it work again. Really not useful to play dlna music/video from PC/mobile. Youtube is a nightmare to type. Remote sensitivity is very poor. Does not support playback controls from a remote dlna player from pc/mobile. Needs software update to stay relevant. It was good 2 years back, but not relevant now.

I am using this product for last 3-4 days. The sound quality is good when you play movies with 5.1 audio, it reproduces most of the frequency ranges with good effect. The sub woofer and satellites are good for a 5.1 audio source. To be frank I am not impressed when it plays non 5.1 audio sources. I have tried I-Link from my mobile and I am not impressed by the audio quality. I also tried playing mp3 files with bit rates 128 and 320 kbps from USB, I was not impressed either. I connected my TV output (3.5mm) to the AUX in and watched channels through cable and set top box, again I have to say I was not impressed by the audio. To be fair the audio quality when playing non 5.1 audio was comparable or sometimes below that of my previous 2.1 system, but I expected more. Another thing that disappointed me is that it does not have an option to form playlist or selectively play some mp3s from USB. It either plays all the files or one folder. You need to manually change folders which is annoying. Expecting a firmware update for this. I would recommend this product if your audio source is 5.1 like an HD set top box with 5.1 out or for watching Blue-ray or DVD with 5.1 audio out. If your main purpose is to listen music from USB or from your mobile/mp3 player I would not recommend this product. Coming to video quality, it is very good for a blue-ray dis, DVD and DVD rips. I have not tried 3D video because I do not have a 3D TV. Not tried youtube/picasa as I do not have long enough cable to connect it to the router and for the USB dongle, it looks expensive.
