No sound from my Philips player during a DVD playback

  • Check whether the DVD is formatted with DTS (Digital Theatre System)
  • Try another DVD
  • Use a coaxial cable (not supplied) to connect the player to a digital system through the coaxial jack of the player
  • Press the Audio button on the remote control repeatedly to get the sound
  • Deactivate the mute function if it is active
  • If a headphone is connected to the player, disconnect it
