The pre-filter or the filter is dirty

It normal phenomenon in active carbon filter

This issue cannot happen on the HEPA filter.

Philips air purifier use the principle of physical adsorption to purify the air and will not cause secondary pollution to the environment. If it is used in a confined space with pollution such as a newly renovated house, etc., a large amount of harmful gases such as formaldehyde absorbed by the filter will be blown out by the circulating airflow of the purifier, producing a certain sour taste. However, it is completely harmless to the human body and can be used with confidence. If there is a sour smell, it is recommended to put the activated carbon filter in a sunny and well-ventilated place for a period of time to effectively solve the problem.

If the filter has been used for a long time, it is recommended to replace a new one.
