World Heart Day 2025: Philips India Announces Initiatives to Strengthen Awareness, Access and Action for Heart Health in India

New Delhi, September 26, 2025: To mark World Heart Day 2025, Philips India announces a series of initiatives aimed at supporting heart health in India, combining clinical training, expert sessions, and community-focused programs across the nation.

• Nationwide Cardiac Masterclasses: Over 50 advanced training sessions will be conducted for more than 1,000 healthcare professionals across India, covering key areas including CT, MR, structural heart disease, etc. These programs are designed to enhance clinicians’ expertise through a mix of pre-learning modules and hands-on training.

• National dialogue on heart health – A special 8-part video series - ‘Straight from the Heart: Every Beat Counts’ - will bring together leading cardiologists and healthcare specialists to share insights on heart health with a focus on prevention, early diagnosis, and long-term care. This series is intended to encourage individuals to take charge of their heart health and drive collective action against cardiovascular disease.

• Special session with Child Heart Federation (CHF): On World Heart Day, Philips will host an awareness session in New Delhi with the Child Heart Federation, led by Dr. Vikas Kohli, Founder Trustee, CHF. Focused on congenital heart disease (CHD), the event will highlight experiences of children who have received timely care and convene pediatric cardiac experts to share insights on how we can strengthen pediatric cardiac care in India.

• Employee awareness initiative: Philips will also organise an internal awareness session on cardiac care and preventive health for its 9000 employees, led by Dr. Srinivas Prasad B V., Additional Director Cardiology, Fortis BG Road, Bengaluru and Interventional Cardiologist & TAVI Expert.

Together, these initiatives seek not only to raise awareness but also to drive collective action that makes timely, effective cardiac care accessible to all.

Bharath Sesha, Managing Director, Philips Indian Subcontinent, said, “Heart health is one of the most urgent healthcare priorities in India today. Awareness, prevention, and timely care could save many lives. At Philips, our purpose goes beyond technology; it is about empowering doctors with the right skills and tools, reaching families with the right knowledge, and encouraging society to prioritise heart health as a shared mission. Every initiative we drive, whether through training, awareness campaigns, or clinical innovation is guided by one belief: that every heartbeat matters. We continue to work towards helping to bridge the gaps in access and providing better care for more people. Together, we can progress towards a healthier India.”

These efforts aim to strengthen awareness, prevention, and timely care while supporting healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to address the growing burden of cardiovascular disease.
