Hospitals often need multiple monitors to capture vital signs using the clinician’s preferred technologies. Philips partnerships with monitoring companies address this issue by integrating their measurement technologies into Philips IntelliVue patient monitors. This integration provides clinicians with the freedom to choose their preferred technologies for monitoring vital signs, all within a single, seamless system. By collaborating with industry leaders like Masimo and Medtronic, we are significantly advancing our clinical measurement capabilities.

Our partnerships with wearable biosensor companies like smartQare and Respiree open new sightlines into patients’ status in the hospital and at home. Integrated insights from Philips in-hospital patient monitoring platforms and wearable biosensors may increase timely interventions to facilitate better care. Entire new care pathways become possible by expanding vital sign collection capabilities, allowing patients to receive the appropriate level of monitoring – in the appropriate setting – from hospital to home.

Advancing interoperability through partnerships that strengthen how health systems connect medical devices. By collaborating with the SDC Consortium, device manufacturers and health systems, we define, test and implement open standards such as Service-oriented Device Connectivity for vendor neutral device communication. We also envision an open operating room with interoperable monitoring for a complete patient view across care areas, including perioperative. We partner with companies like Getinge to provide clinicians the freedom to connect to hospital data systems and anesthesia machines.
