COPD is a group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe. Emphysema and Chronic bronchitis are the most common conditions that make up COPD.

COPD compromises lung capacity as well as lung function and it is diagnosed by doing lung function tests. Spirometry is the most common lung function test. It measures how much and how quickly you can move air out of your lungs with the help of a machine called a Spirometer.

Philips is conducting free Spirometry tests in:

With COPD, breathing can be difficult –  Living life doesn’t have to be.

Improving lives is at the heart of the Philips mission.  We take our responsibility and commitment towards building a healthy society seriously by developing meaningful innovation that can help people manage COPD and ultimately breathe easier. But people can’t find solutions for a problem they don’t know they have or benefit from solutions they don’t know exist.  At Philips, we understand our commitment to making lives better for COPD patients starts with education. With the right diagnosis, management plan, therapy, and moral support, people affected by the disease can realize a full life. But don’t take it from us. Help us to spread the word of hope as told by COPD athlete Russell Winwood and his physician Dr. Wayne Kelly.  For every share these videos receive, Philips will donate $1 to further globalize the impact of The COPD Foundation up to $25,000.
