"Disk full" message on my Philips HDD

Published on 2017-02-28

Hard disks come pre-formatted in FAT32. This has a limit of 4 GB as the maximum file size. If you exceed that amount (e.g. 5 GB), a Windows error message will appear saying that the disk is full.

To avoid this, you can convert the hard disk to NTFS, which will allow larger files to be written.
