Before this I was using a normal razor. I first saw my friend using an electric shaver, out of curiosity I decided to try it out, it was a Philips trimmer but some older model. I have to be honest it felt really weird on my skin but it was quick and easy, so I decided to buy a trimmer for myself, for situations where I needed a quick shave. I went online to compare different trimmers in the market. I decided on this one because of two reasons- One Philips being a reputed brand & even my friend was also using Philips trimmer and the other one, that this particular model has multiple trimming & shaving attachments at affordable price. It comes with 8 different attachments for your daily needs. For the first time users do note that the trimmer does feel a little weird on skin for first few uses, after which your skin gets used to it, but it's not painful in any way during the initial period, it is caused by the way it moves. After using if for few weeks I feel much for comfortable using it now, even more comfortable then my regular razor and for most cases it has replaced my regular razor. You can get a really close shave with the mini shaver attachment that comes in the packet. It also comes bundled with two trimmer attachments, a regular sized & a smaller size precision trimmer. You also get a comb attachment to get the desired length. It also comes with a Nose trimmer which comes pretty handy. It has an inbuilt Lithium rechargeable battery which lasts around 20-30 minutes on a full charge. One of the best thing I've noticed is this trimmer is that the charger automatically cuts off charging, as soon as you start using this trimmer when it's plugged in, which is really a good safety feature that I use quite often. I have been using this for almost an year, And I am yet to receive a single cut from any attachment even when I used it hastely. I mainly bought this trimmer for trimming whenever I sported a stubble. But as the time passed, it has slowly replaced my razor for my shaving needs, no more hassle of changing blades every week, buying shaving gels and creams etc.. Just shave dry or by applying a little water & use the mini shaver attachment & then apply some after shave. All the blade attachments are washable, blades itself are made up of stainless steel. You can clean them easily. The overall build quality of this trimmer is really good, it does feel solid & comfortable while holding in hand. It is built to last & it shows, even though everything except the actual blades is made up of plastic, it doesn't feel cheap. The design is minimal, clean & simple, just like most Philips products. Also Philips gave me extra warrenty on registering this product on their site. I don't think, I could find any big flaws with this product, but here are a few limitations that I have found so far, Battery life could be improved a little bit, charging time is little on the higher side, the mini shaver's top mesh is little lose. Although Philips engineers probably know better than me on this point, I would have loved if the charger connector was a Micro-USB one, it would have reduced the hassle of carrying one extra charger even if my phone charger would have charged it at a relatively slower speed. To conclude I would say, if you are looking for a trimmer as a first time user, rest assured this particular model has got your each and every need covered. It needs zero maintenance, cleaning blades is dead simple, also if you compare the total cost of ownership with a razor you might end up saving a lot on this product, coinsider the high cost of blades, shaving gels etc but with this you only need electricity after initial purchasing. Also when you shave with a regular razor you are bound to get a few minor cuts due to negligence, but this is not the case with this trimmer.
