Philips, India’s largest lighting company operates in business areas of Lamps, Luminaires, Lighting Electronics, Automotive and Special Lighting. Philips Lighting is dedicated to introducing innovative, end-user-driven and energy-efficient solutions and applications for lighting in India. The sector has shown consistent growth and has been gaining market share year on year.
With a market share of over 30% in the Indian lighting market, our footprint in India spans four regional sales offices, two wholly owned factories and multiple co-makers and warehouses for delivery. Our fully equipped, best-in-class local development center in Noida develops product that are well aligned to local needs and also caters to the APAC, European and North American markets.
The Philips India Lighting sector is structured into the various business groups of Lighting Solutions, Lighting Electronics, Consumer Luminaires, Professional Luminaires, Automotive and Modular Switches. Supporting these is our segmented distribution channel structure of trade/ retail, professional, home decorative and OEMs which enables us to reach both large and small customers effectively. We have the largest lighting distribution network in India reaching out to close 1.2 million electrical & non-electrical outlets across 1000 urban cities and towns.

In January 2014, Philips have a complete lighting makeover to the Gateway of India in partnership with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation. Mumbai’s iconic monument is now more colorful and greener, thanks to a new energy-efficient LED lighting system. In 2012, Philips lit up the majestic India Gate with installations that not only save energy, but also enhance the magnificence of the monument. The new lighting solution at the Salt Lake Stadium, India’s largest stadium, has increased the illumination level to thrice the previous level without compromising on energy consumption and light pollution.
