Philips has launched new street lighting solutions. The street lighting solutions offered by Philips to municipalities like New Delhi Municipal Corporation combine the best of global and local solutions, and offer the clear benefits of energy saving, lesser maintenance and longer life.

In offices, Philips offers multiple LED lighting solutions options for different areas, like the DayWave suspended solutions for Boardrooms and Senior Management enclosures, Dynamic colour changing or multiple colour effect LED solutions for breakout and high visibility areas, LED accelerated energy savers providing more than 50% savings for circulation areas, Outdoor LED solutions for external building façades and glass facades to bring out building exteriors vibrantly at night. All of these also offer the advantages of longer life and negligible maintenance.

Philips has also introduced the MASTER LEDlamp range of LED lighting solutions for hotels to easily replace their existing lighting in general and decorative applications. Some of the hotel chains which have adopted these solutions are The ITC Group of Hotels, Indian Hotels Company (The Taj Group of Hotels), The Holiday Inn, The Ashoka Hotel, Pheonix Mall in Mumbai, Sky Bar at Pune and The Convention Centre at Lavasa City. Philips augments its Home Decorative Lighting Range with the launch of the exciting “Kidsplace” and “Ledino” collections

The “Kidsplace” collection of consumer luminaires is a collection of child-friendly lights, designed around the function of lighting, but with a playful twist. It offers child-specific ergonomics, including switches that are easy and safe for children to use.

Philips also strengthened its leadership position in the Consumer LED space with the launch of its “Ledino” range of Consumer LED solutions. The new sleek Ledino range of luminaires features breakthroughs in the field of Lighting.

Sleek and smooth, this polished organic pebble-shaped table lamp illuminates a space with rays of pure, white light: A unique work of art that complements any modern interior

The new range provides gentle and natural light, and ensures uniform light output due to the latest puck LED technology. The strength and clarity of the light from this range is comparable with a typical 40W Halogen light bulb, yet consumes only 7.5W, thereby saving 80% energy. Not only is the range energy efficient, the minimum lifespan of the light source and electronics is at least 20 years. The Philips Ledino indoor collection comprises of ceiling, pendant, spot, and wall and desk lights.

Since the buying experience is crucial for products like Kidsplace and Ledino, these ranges will be sold through over 200 specialized Philips retail outlets, including the exclusive “Philips Light Lounges”. Consumers visiting the Philips Light Lounge get a unique “see, touch and feel” experience of a wide range of world class decorative lighting concepts like Living Colors, Ecomoods and Aquafit, and showcase lighting solutions for every application and space within a home, including the living room, bedroom, study, dining rooms, kitchen and bathroom.

Philips leads in providing energy efficient lighting solutions for homes

Philips also took the opportunity to announce that it has received an order of 15 Million CFLs from Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). These CFL’s will be distributed to 7.5 Million households in Kerala, and will help achieve a peak load reduction of ~200 MW, and reduce CO2 emissions by 0.5 Million tonnes per annum. Speaking about this unique partnership, Mr. Rajeev Sadanandan, the Chairman of KSEB said “Demand side management has been a key strategy to bridge the demand supply gap during peak hours in Kerala. As part of our DSM measures this year we plan to replace 15 Million incandescent lamps with CFLs through the Bachat Lamp Yojana programme of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. This is a stupendous task in production, supply chain management and implementation. We are happy that Philips, a household name in Kerala, has agreed to partner with us in this task. They have deployed the resources to meet our requirements, and have walked the extra mile to make our CFL programme a success. We expect their strong brand equity to facilitate acceptance of the programme among our consumers.”

This comes on top of Philips recently supplying 2.6 Million CFLs to replace incandescent lamps in Indian Railways Housing colonies across the country. This will benefit 0.7 Million Railways employees, and reduce CO2 emissions by 0.1 Million tonnes per annum.

As a market leader, driven by innovation and sustainability, Philips is committed to developing affordable off grid lighting solutions for people who do not have access to electricity grids in various parts of the country. Philips is currently working on a number of solar LED solutions that will be affordable and will offer fast paybacks and cost savings.
